In 2020, during the first lockdown of the global pandemic there was a global outcry to end systemic racism. 
In Sydney, Australia there was a vigil was held for David Dungay Jnr in conjunction with George Floyd both tragically killed by police officers. The message of our own first nations people was for an end to Indigenous deaths in custody.
I chose not to present the conflict between police and protestors and decided to highlight the nuanced expressions of emotion on the faces of the protest organisers.
Our shared emotion is for connection, it helps us understand each other.
